Remote Wireline

Remote Wireline Services commenced operations in 1996 and management has over 25 years of experience.  Remote primarily provides slickline (i.e. a small diameter, single strand wire) services. Applications involve deploying mechanical tools or instruments attached to slickline into the well bore.

Remote specializes in providing services to the more challenging regions in northern Alberta, providing off-road slickline services using various types of all terrain vehicles (ATV’s) and helicopters. 

Remote has recently made significant progress supplying reservoir / aquifer management data systems (i.e. real time bottom hole pressure and temperature sensing), a crucial component of Alberta’s oil sands and heavy oil development. 

Equipment ranges from heavy duty tandem axle trucks with 0.125” and 0.108” slickline to extremely light and heli-portable custom engineered slickline systems.  Remote also has crane and picker units that are used to support lubricating equipment.  All heavy duty trucks are equipped to operate in sour (H2S) well environments.

Remote maintains an inventory of bottom hole and wellhead pressure recording instruments, surface read out (SRO) systems and acoustic well sounding equipment.  In-house pressure data service provides data reporting and PAS files to ERCB specifications.  

Remote is based in Morinville and Slave Lake, AB and provides services from northeastern British Columbia, across northern and central Alberta and into Saskatchewan.
