Coil Tubing
Essential has the largest coil tubing well service fleet in Canada. The coil tubing rigs can be used for drilling or milling and can run a variety of downhole tools for production, segregation or abandonment of oil and natural gas wells. Coil tubing rigs use a continuous string of tubing ranging from 1,000 meters to 5,100 meters in length and ¾” to 2” in diameter. The continuous coil tubing is used to transmit an inert gas (nitrogen) or a variety of fluids (e.g. water, acids, chemicals or slurries) through the tubing to clean out blockages in oil and gas wells or treat specific problems or conditions within the well bore such as paraffin accumulation or scaling. Coil tubing is also used to convey various downhole tools and is particularly effective in conveying tools in highly deviated well bores like horizontal wells where a simple wireline deployed tool would be ineffective. Coil tubing can also be used for extracting debris or fishing operations.
The Canadian coil tubing rigs operate throughout Alberta and into B.C. and Saskatchewan through:
ECSS North and South are current on their COR certifications and are in good standing with ISN and HSE registries.
Essential recently sent 2 coil tubing rigs and 2 nitrogen pumpers to operate in Colombia.
