CTC Energy Services

CTC Energy Services (“CTC”) commenced operations in 1999 and expanded into nitrogen services in 2001.  The founder and General Manager has over 30 years of oilfield and coil tubing experience.  CTC offers several options for dewatering wells including permanent installations of hydraulic submersible pumps, electric submersible pumps and mobile dewatering service. They provide conventional cement squeezes and selective micro ceramic cement squeezes to shut off water production in coal bed methane and shallow gas wells.  CTC also provides acidizing and nitrogen services and has drilling motors and a fishing and recovery tools division.

CTC prides itself on finding the best solution that fits its customer’s needs. They offer a Tri–Service, which includes coil tubing, nitrogen and p-tank and flare stack. Other services offered includes clean outs, pipeline purges and cleanouts, velocity and siphon string hang offs, de-waxing and fluid lifting.

In Q3/09, CTC added a deep coil tubing rig (Class 3).  This rig has depth capability of 3,750 meters to 5,100 meters, depending on the diameter of coil and has a 10,000 psi blowout preventer system.  The rig is ideal for deeper horizontal wells and can work from Estevan, SK to Ft. Nelson, BC.

CTC has seven nitrogen pumpers and five bulkers that support the coil tubing rigs and provides regular service work along with plant and pipeline purging and pressure testing.  A cement and acid pumper performs regular service work and acts as an auxiliary pumper with the coil tubing rigs.

CTC is based in Red Deer, AB and Grande Prairie, AB and provides services in central and northern Alberta and into B.C.
